A Nigerian gospel singer Temitope Van-Lare nee Oyegbami is set to take gospel music to a new height with her newly released single, which according to her, promises to refresh souls and add value to gospel music in the country, as it is uniquely inspired in the worship of God.
The Ogun state born singer, a graduate of Biochemistry from the University of Benin, began her singing journey from the age of 13 years. Speaking on her musical career she postulates that she has a compendium of artistic accomplishments which includes 'Calculator'.
According to her It was a smashing success. Her words; "I love worshiping and praising God, i started writing my songs at an early age of 13years. I have hits like calculator where my name was coined from TopeCalculator. Other hits are Marin Mayan, Oluwatiseun nla, Odironyedikagi and Before the Throne.
"The new hit on the airwave is 'Jigijigi', which means the love the father has for me and all of us dey make my heart go Jigijigi ( fills my heart with joy and peace). Jigijigi is just about what you feel when you wake up first thing in the morning. The heart of gratitude when you lift up your leg every morning and you are able to do it with ease. In this song i featured a co-artist named Emmanuel Mike".
The fast rising born-again singer is a philanthropist, she has been reaching out to souls through medical outreaches and care clinics. She is kindhearted and always willing to assist her Mother Bishop Bola Oyegbami in her intercessory Ministry ( Minister of Prayer Network International), where prayers are offered for Nigeria. Ever yearning for a closer walk with God, Tope prays for souls to have a closer and personal relationship with God.
She is happily married to Bukola Vanlare and blessed with lovely Children. On Roadblocks encountered in her musical journey so far Tope hinted journalists that she has not been able to reach as many people as she want to reach. "I have been doing my thing at my own pace, taking one step at a time. It is my wish to reach out to more people. Though friends and family support occasionally.
"I would love to be under a label, but we have fewer labels in Gospel Acts. Its either you are under a particular denomination or you have a selected few you work with. "I believe more churches should be involved in building platforms for their Christian acts so that they won't be frustrated. There are numerous talented gospel artists.
"We implore the government to support by making grants available for musicians so as to foster artistic growth". Tope described herself as a simple lady who loves simplicity and comfortability. When asked where she wants to be in the next 5 years she said, "I want to see myself bringing people into a deeper intimacy and worship to the father, I want lives to be transformed, healed and comforted through my music".
