The Nigeria Iconic Legacy Watch Media Ltd, on Tuesday 24th of August 2021, officially announced the unveiling of the maiden edition of The Nigeria Iconic Watch Media Grand Awards NIWMGA.
While speaking in a press conference that held in Radisson hotel, GRA Ikeja. The convener Mayor David Buchieze postulates that the first Nigeria Iconic Watch Media Grand Awards is one of the nation's highest grand awards of honor that rewards hard works and promotes excellence.
According to him; "In this Nigeria Iconic Watch Media Grand Awards 2020/2021, various eminent Nigerians who have made a difference in their fields will be honored.
In his remarks he stated that, "The Nigeria Iconic Watch Media Grand Awards NIWMGA, 2020/2021 is a prestigious award of excellence endorsed by over fifty media partners and multinational organizations to honor Nigeria's great achievers whose legacies and footprints have been boldly engraved in our nation's building and development".
Speaking with journalists David emphasized that the award is specifically conferred on Nigeria's Icons and grand Icons both at home and overseas once in two years. He posits that NIWMGA is not a partisan award irrespective of affiliations with government parastatals, its recognition is only for Nigerians who standout in their esteemed fields of human endeavors. He further explained that the selection of the nominees and awardees are done through online votes by the general public, and voting is still in progress for the best executive governors 2020/2021.
In his statement he mentioned that; "Ultimately, this is a clarion call for all Nigerians in whatever capacity of service, to strive to be the best as The Nigeria Iconic Watch Media Grand Awards NIWMGA, has come to stay and will always recognize their selfless commitment for a better Nigeria". He concluded.

Cornell Udofia, Moreen Okpoko, Miss Pepeye’ former character in “Papa Ajasco” comedy series, Bolatito Sowunmi, Tessy white Top women politician, cyndy Ezeh Rave TV Business Editor, Enoima Francis Elijah CEO Roekif castle, Sports And business icon, Friday kujah aka soccer Ambassador, Entertainment Editor channels TV koye shotade among others, shone brilliantly at the event.
Radisson hotel was wowed as over 40 top influential media houses stormed the event, some of the media houses includes Arise TV, Channels, NTA, Superscreen TV, This day, The Sun , Vanguard, The Gladiators Magazine, AIT, Yabatech FM, faaji FM, Rave TV, punch newspaper, Guardian, This Nigeria TV and Pity Pride Achievers Magazine.
High Chief Solomon Ogbonna, who unveiled the award also supported the organizers with a token some of N100,000.
