Speaking with journalists, Comrade Udofia expressed his profound gratitude to God for giving him the grace to come back for a second tenure. According to him there is no way he would have come this far without the intervention of God.
"We give all the glory to the Almighty God who sees us fit to continue to pilot the affairs of AKISCOM-Ajah into the next three years.
"I remain eternally grateful to God almighty who has brought me this far. I know it's not by my own power nor might, because the bible made me understand that, by strength shall no man prevail. So it's the Lord's doing and it is marvelous in our eyes.
"God bears me witness that today is one of the happiest days in my life. To have an assemblage of highly accomplished individuals here present to witness and support my inauguration and presentation of certificates to members of my Executive Council (EXCO) is a thing of joy."
When asked about the exceptional things he did that paved way for his second tenure he said;
"since we assumed leadership in 2017, I would like to begin by saying we started from day one to seek to unite all Akwaibomites residing along the Lekki-Ajah flank, and, I daresay, we provided commensurate leadership.
It is on record that, within the period under review, we have been able to pay out as much as N2.0million to members as welfare benefits.
We have consistently fought for the fundamental rights of members where such rights appear to be trampled upon.
We have grown our membership base from a measly 33 to 459, still counting.
During the lockdown we were able to provide foodstuffs as palliatives for the vulnerable and economically disadvantaged households.
We created and funded the viable AKISCOM-Ajah Multi-purpose Cooperative Society as stop-gap for those in need of small-business loans.
Let me also mention here that we are partnering with the Lagos State Government in working out benefits in terms of skills acquisition, job opportunities, etc. for members. This, I must say, has gained so much traction in recent times.
We have explored workable means of living in peace and unity with our host and neighbors, we come together as a community to proffer solutions to the need of our people
We have been working hand in hand with the government to ensure that we give the people a better life, and we are extremely committed to their welfare. leadership is about making the lives of people better." He concluded.
Hon Noheem Adams Babatunde, who declared his support for Comrade Promise Udofia was also decorated as one of the patrons of AKISCOM as 10 widows and needy were instantly empowered.
Nice one and god bless you all by doing this, Mr promise is a man of the integrity a good leader, if Aksicom constitution payment the third term I would have said he is untouchable He should continue. Sir May the good Lord who let you for the first three years will continue for the next three years in Jesus name. Pastor Mathias
